Summer courses for 2024 will be available in March 2024.

WashU School of Continuing & Professional Studies’ summer school has an open admission policy for undergraduate courses and welcomes students from other colleges and universities and adults who are seeking career advancement or enrichment. A transcript is not required for students who have earned a high school diploma, or its equivalent, by June. However, all students are expected to have completed the stated course prerequisites.

SUMMER 2023 Sessions

  • Summer I: 5/22 – 6/9
  • Summer II:  6/12 – 7/14
  • Summer III: 6/12 – 8/4
  • Summer IV: 7/17 – 8/17
  • Summer V – Between 5/22 and 8/17

We offer four sessions during the summer, and summer courses are held during the days and evenings.

Note: Graduate students from divisions other than the School of Continuing & Professional Studies or Graduate Arts & Sciences should contact the registrar in their Dean’s Office to register.

FINAL GRADES FOR SUMMER 2023 will be due approximately one week after the session ends.  ALL SUMMER 2023 FINAL GRADES WILL BE DUE BY AUGUST 21.

Session 5 (Special Session)

  • If the course meets 3 days or fewer, it must be dropped prior to the start of course for 100% refund. Thereafter, no refund is applied. 
  • If the course meets for 4 calendar days up to 1 week, you have 24 hours after the first class to drop for 100% refund. Thereafter, no refund is applied. 
  • If you are taking a Special Format course (for example, Weekend or Intensive Format) that meets 2 – 4 weeks, you have 48 hours after the first class to drop for 100% refund. Thereafter, no refund is applied. 
  • If the course meets for 5-6 weeks, you have 4 days after the first class to drop for 100% refund, and 8 days after the first class to drop for a 50% refund. Thereafter, no refund is applied. 
  • If the course meets 7 weeks or more, you have 7 days after the first class to drop for 100% refund, and 14 days after the first class to drop with a 50% refund. Thereafter, no refund is applied.

The last day to drop without a W-Withdrawal is the same as the 100% refund date for all courses.

Lab Fee Refunds – Lab Fees are refunded if the course is dropped during the 100% tuition refund period or if the course is canceled.
