The English Language Program at WashU’s School of Continuing & Professional Studies merges English language development with valuable workforce certifications. The program is specifically designed for refugees looking for career development.
Qualified applicants will receive free:
- English development classes
- Support from a career pathway specialist
- Workforce skills training
- Certificates and job coaching in high-demand fields such as Healthcare, Geographic Information Systems, Data Analytics and Project Management
Qualifications
Must meet all of the following criteria:
- Have lived in the US for less than 5 years
- Are eligible for employment
- Have a minimum high school education
- Have low-to-intermediate English proficiency
- Can commit to a 26-week program
AND have one of the following immigration statuses:
- Refugee Section 207 of INA
- Asylum Section 208 of INA
- Cuban/Haitian Section 501 Refugee Ed Assistance Act
- Iraq/Afghan Special Immigrants Public Law 111-118
- Trafficking Victims (under TV Act)
- Afghan Special Immigrants and Humanitarian Parolees
- Ukrainian Humanitarian Parolees
